Last week I had the honor to be invited to the Medica healthcare trade fair in Düsseldorf. Around the Connected Healthcare Forum, where many presentations around healthcare, mobile health and medical applications were organized, there was also the Medica App Competition 2015 happening, organized by Mark Wächter, aka Mister Mobile.
I was lucky enough to be among the jury members again for the second year in a row, which was a true joy. Many amazing apps, mostly Business to Business focussed were presented and it was a hard choice to select the top three winners. The winner of the medical apps competition this year was Talkitt, followed by Smokers Watchers and MobileODT. You can learn more about these great medical solutions here.
The Dignified Self on Tools & Apps for your DIGNIFIED Self
Shortly before the start of the exciting competition I gave a presentation for The Dignified Self on “Tools & Apps for your DIGNIFIED Self”. In this talk I spoke about the relevance and different faces of mindfulness and how it is linked to technology and digital transformation. I also presented potential tools and apps to include in our daily life.
I further spoke about trends from the Web Summit in Dublin this year, about how philosophy is now being merged with technology (also see blog post “When Philosophy meets Technology”), about value systems, and the combination and integration of all the different interests and passions we have. It was lovely to see that the topic around mindfulness in the technology age resonated and many interesting new contacts could be created that now also want to support our mission of The Dignified Self. :-) The presentation is about 30 minutes and we’ve uploaded it on YouTube for you. In the talk I refer to this YouTube Playlist, which was created for Medica to show some video examples of apps and mindful technology. Below you also find the link to the deck on Slideshare. I hope you enjoy it and it adds value!
